Note: The powerpoint presentations for BRP lessons have been posted on the BRP LMS module for your reference!

  • If - then format:
    •  If the dependent variable is related to the independent variable, thenspecific change in the independent variable will affect the dependent variable in a specific way.
    • Example: "If fermentation rate is related to temperature, then increasing the temperature will increase fermentation rate."
    • The independent variable changes and causes the dependent variable to change as well.
    • Both these variables should be clearly measurable using known instruments (and also using calculations).

  • BRP requirements and deadlines: 2011 Semester 2 BRP Project Task_Annex A.pdf
  • BRP Project Proposal form BRP Project Proposal Form for 2011 (Annex B).doc
  • BRP Rubrics and Table of Contributions:  Marking Rubrics&Table of Contributions(Annex C).docx
  • Individual Reflections may include:
    • content knowledge - extension of knowledge on topic
    • process knowledge - project management skills
    • personal learning points - personal strengths and weaknesses, personal growth
    • team work - reflection on working with group members
  • Including citations & acknowledgements: Refer to the sample report (at the back of your BRP handouts).
    • Citations - indicate within your paragraph of information where the information comes from.
E.g. the research paper is: John Smith (1995), "How air resistance affects ..."
In your report, you write "Smith (1995) reported that that air resistance would affect .... "
    • Acknowledgements - indicate who you would like to thank for advice or support for the BRP.
